2025 Festival Event

Cold Sunset

Bestselling writer, William Boyd returns to Barnes BookFest to talk about the third novel in his compelling espionage series featuring the accidental spy Gabriel Dax and his enigmatic handler Faith Green.  Published this September, Cold Sunset takes Dax to Cold War Moscow, to rescue the celebrated defector, Kit Caldwell.  It’s a place smouldering with secrets, darkness and danger where loyalties blur and motives shift and change.  Continuing on from Gabriel’s Moon and The Predicament, the third book is another tautly woven mystery showing Boyd’s storytelling genius.  ‘Boyd does shadowy worlds and moral complexity better than anyone’ (The Observer).  William Boyd is in conversation with BBC Radio 4 presenter, Harriett Gilbert.
